Do I need to be a mechanic to use PairMyKey?

Absolutely not. PairMyKey is designed for regular people. The app gives you easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions. You plug in, pick your car, and follow along. No fancy tools or technical knowledge required.

What vehicles does PairMyKey support?

PairMyKey covers thousands of makes and models across five dongle types. Check the Supported Vehicles list on our website or contact us to confirm your car is covered.

Where is the OBD port on my car?

The OBD port is typically under your dashboard on the driver’s side. The PairMyKey app shows you exactly where to look for your specific vehicle.

How long does programming take?

Programming takes just minutes — not hours. Most users finish in under 15 minutes, many in just a few.

What’s included in the kit?

Each kit includes the programming dongle, one or two compatible keys (depending on the kit), and full access to the PMK app with step-by-step guidance.

Can I program more than one key?

Yes. The Spare Key Kit is built for programming two keys — a replacement and a spare. Each dongle also includes two uses out of the box.

Will this void my car warranty?

No. Programming through the standard OBD port does not void your vehicle warranty. The Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act protects your warranty when using third-party programming tools.

What if programming doesn’t work?

Double-check that you selected the correct vehicle and followed every step. If you’re still stuck, our tech support team responds quickly with real assistance.

Do I need Wi-Fi or mobile data?

You need a connection for login, setup, and to download programming files. After that, the app works offline during programming.

How is this different from going to a dealership?

PairMyKey is cheaper, faster, and more convenient. You do it yourself, at home, in about the time it takes to make a sandwich.
